It's been over a year now that you've been on my heart, Matthew Fredrick. I'm so glad you decided to text me your new number that fateful day last September and then continue to text me (almost) every day after that :) You are such a blessing in my life and I seriously cannot wait until the day I never have to say goodbye to you again. As much as our goodbyes hurt, I always try to remind myself that they are just "see you laters" because I truly believe, in my heart of hearts, that I will never have to say goodbye to you forever. Thank you for all that you do for me and for being the loving, caring, crazy, honest, goofy, kind, funny, compassionate person that you are. You mean the world to me :)

He's there and I'm here

Sometimes it's hard to know exactly what God is doing. Why he's doing it this way instead of what might seem like a better way. But looking back on my life, the times when I most doubted Him and questioned His ways, those were the times when He was the closest, working everything together for my good. He has always had my best interests in mind. He knows what (or who) I need even when I don't. He never gives me anything more than I can handle. And He knows exactly what He's doing. These truths and promises from His word are where I find my joy and peace. In times of worry and doubt, I lean on Him and He is always there to reassure me. Always. The peace He so graciously gives me is an indescribable, unbelievable feeling. And it's not that I never worry or doubt Him...because I do. More than I like to admit. But I always find myself coming back to His promises and am able to rest again.

As C.S. Lewis puts it so well, "Though our feelings come and go, His love for us never does." He is an unchanging God that loves us no matter what. As much as that phrase is said and heard, it can become watered down and meaningless. But just think about it, He loves us no matter what. Unconditionally. No matter what we do. No matter who we hurt. He loves us. Always. Every day. On our good days. On our bad days. Every.Single.Day. If that doesn't give you an unspeakable amount of joy and peace, I have no idea what will.
