Halfway There

As crazy as it seems, I have been here in Medora, ND for 5 weeks. Time has gone by so fast and yet so slow. I say that because I can't believe that I've been here for 5 weeks already and I also feel like I've been here forever because of the close relationships I've formed with my friends; I feel like I've known them forever! As I look back on these past few weeks, I would have to say they've been some of the best of my life. Nights full of fellowship, fun, and so much laughter. Days at work full of serving and meeting so many different people coming from different walks of life. Cru meetings full of learning new things about myself and the God I serve. It has definitely been an experience I will never forget.
Our staff team left last week and entrusted the whole project to us. It's a scary thing but a good thing. The staff appoints leaders to take over their positions and responsibilities when they leave so we as students have the opportunity to step up and take some leaps of faith for the second half of our summer. I was asked to be a bible study leader and a discipler. I was slightly surprised by this  but I gladly said yes. I led our bible study for the first time last Sunday and I think it went really well. We have a good mix of people that come to bible study so it’s hard to find the right topic but I plan to keep every study focused around the Gospel because in the end that is why we are here.
I am also starting to disciple two girls from project, which is super exciting for me. We had our first meeting yesterday and it went really well. I’m mostly excited because I know that I will learn just as much from Katie and Kayla as they will from me. They are both amazing women of God and I can’t wait to grow closer with them over these next 5 weeks.
Although I miss my family and friends back home, I am so glad that God brought me to Medora this summer and I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for us this summer. He is definitely here and working in the lives of so many students here and it has been such a great experience to witness Him working and to be able to be a part of the ministry here.
Please continue to pray for me and all the others here on project that are sacrificing their summers for the kingdom. Pray that we will take a hold of opportunities to share the Gospel and also that we would be able to personally experience the Gospel in our own lives. God is not done working here and I’m excited to see what’s in store for these next 5 weeks! :)
